The undisputed center of northern adventure tourism is in San Pedro de Atacama, whose narrow streets have a cosmopolitan air. In pre-Hispanic times this place was a center of Atacamean culture and today enjoys the prestige of being the Archaeological Center of Chile and Typical Zone. The Church and museum are must-see. The nearby attractions, the Valley of the Moon and the Valley of Death announce the desolate desert landscapes of varied ochre colors and whimsical natural formations sculpted by erosion. Toconao and the sherry raven are, on the contrary, fertile oases producing fruits and vegetables. Not only that, Jerez is also reputed for its excellent wallings for sports climbing. The immense Salar de Atacama reveals some of its landscape and archaeological riches, first the Chaxa Lagoon populated with flamingos and then the ceremonial site of Tulan with its temple. The Miscanti and Miñiques highland lagoons, the most visited in the Los Flamencos National Reserve, are crystal clear waters and are surrounded by imposing Andean massifs under a clear sky of intense blue. Flamingos, foxes and vicuñas observe visitors from their areas. The salt flats of Talar and especially the Kapur salt flat are places of singular beauty in the Atacama Desert. From the LejÃa lagoon, the next noon the ascent to the Láscar volcano from its 5450 m high will give us the widest panoramic view of the volcanoes of northern Chile. And from here, bordering Tara’s salt flat with the thrill of the final and major summit of this expedition: the Pili or Acamarachi (“stone snail” in Aymara) which will be our victory over one of Atacama’s six thousand at the end of the tying day of this tour.

It was really comfortable. Interesting experience. Visiting the Atacama Desert, and its attractions, volcanoes, Geisers. Then the trip to Vi a del March and Valparaiso was amazing. Formality
Documentation for travelling to Chile
If you are a tourist, the documentation for traveling to Chile is the ID card, ID card or passport. In International Police you must present these documents, in addition to the stamped visa (depending on the country of origin).
Police International provides at the time of entering Chile a duplicate form called “Tourism Card” and lasts 90 days, extendable for another 90 days.
Requirements for travelling to Chile by car from mendoza
All foreign tourists traveling to Chile by land must enter by customs border crossings between Chile and Argentina, must fill out a unique form for the “Departure and Temporary Admission of Vehicles” (Chilean-Argentine Agreement).
For Argentine tourists the driver’s license granted in their country is valid, but they must have insurance for foreign vehicles entering Chile, which is required by Chilean law for any vehicle with foreign license plates.
There are two companies in Chile that offer insurance and where you can quote the value:
What requirements are needed to enter Chile with a minor?
A) If you are travelling with your parents:
- ID passport of the country of origin.
- Birth certificate.
B) If you are travelling with only one parent:
- ID passport of the country of origin.
- Birth certificate with three simple photocopies
- Notarized authorization of the parent who does not travel by handing over his consent, in original and three copies.
C) If the minor does not travel with his/her parents:
- ID passport of the country of origin.
- Birth certificate with three simple photocopies
- Notarized authorization of the parent who does not travel by handing over his consent, in original and three copies.
- Death certificate in case of death of parents in original and three copies.
- Authorization of the applicable Family Court, giving consent for the child’s travel, in original and three simple photocopies
