ALEXANDRE

Adventurer and mountain guide, committed to the protection of the environment, my path was clearly shown, during an experience lived at the summit of the Cerro Rojo volcano, at 5,300 m high, in northern Chile. In that place, the imposing majesty of Nature stopped time for a moment, and clearly aroused the desire to act for the conservation and protection of our planet, with the will to involve through our adventures and mountain expeditions in Atacama and Patagonia all people who wish to live an experience that creates awareness and sizes being as part of a living whole.

In 2018 I became involved in the development of the Association of Mountain Guides of San Pedro de Atacama as vice-president. For two years I worked in conjunction with bolivia’s International High Mountain School to conduct training of mountain guides for young enthusiasts in the town.

In 2019 an NGO was specially created to protect high-rise lagoons and salt flats severely threatened by mining projects interested in borax and lithium, the so-called economic transition that jeopardizes the cultural and historical heritage of the Atacama Region. Social actions, sustainability projects and protection of fragile ecosystems were carried out so that these natural spaces can endure unchanged for the cultural and material benefit of future Atacameña generations. A chance trip to Patagonia gave me another experience of communion with Nature. We are now creating new perspectives so that those who wish to join us feel part of an adventure that best enfies their knowledge and love for our land, at the end of the world, thus working for the common good.
