A notable part of the Cordillera Real is the Condoriri massif praised by mountaineers around the world for its unique beauty and resemblance to the Himalayas. On a five-day tour we will explore this Massif knowing its slopes and the whole set of high lagoons that give it highlight. It will be necessary to walk 4 to 6 hours a day so it is necessary to be in good physical condition. The most popular mountain of this Cordillera, located very close to La Paz, whose ascent does not present greater technical demands is Huayna Potosí, young hill in Aymara. Without a doubt the Nevado Huayna Potosí has a special appeal not only for mountaineers but for all who are lucky enough to admire it up close. It is majestically white, lone and enjoys the prestige of being a six thousand whose ascent is relatively easy. The entire area around it, especially its western slope concentrates numerous high lagoons still as mirrors, sometimes frozen but always located within the impressive environment of the Bolivian Royal Range. From Khotia Lagoon to Surakhota and Ajwani, where large flocks of ducks meet, each is a gift to the eye in the diaphanous atmosphere of Andean heights that highlights natural colors. The unparalleled Condoriri Massif approaches day by day impressing the observer with its beauty praised by all mountaineers and the icy Chiakhota lagoon, at 4,880 meters above sea level, is a place that imposes admiration. Then comes the effort to pass the Jallaiko Pass, above 5,000 meters above sea level, to descend to a cozy valley and climb another step, circle more Andean lagoons while by far guarding the Huayna Potosí that proposes the hiker to continue the adventure and accept the challenge of climbing it. At the southern end of the Cordillera Real the imposing nivea blancura massif that is the Nevado Illimani finishes on four summits being the highest of 6,460 meters from which several glaciers are born that descend abruptly into the valleys. The Illimani is the highest peak of the Cordillera Real and the second in Bolivia after Sajama it is recognized that ascending it requires high physical condition and technical expertise to make the route of rock, snow and ice on a moderate slope. From the summit the Walker receives the prize of a spectacular view of the city of La Paz, you can see Lake Titicaca to Peru, the Sajama to Chile and the wide valleys of the Amazon basin. A panorama like no other.
