Undoubtedly huayna Potosí is the most popular summit of the Bolivian Cordillera Real because it is very close to La Paz and because the ascent does not require much experience or mountain technique.the Nevado Huayna Potosí has a special appeal not only for mountaineers but for all those lucky enough to admire it up close. It is majestically white, lone and enjoys the prestige of being a six thousand whose ascent is relatively easy. The entire area around it, especially its western slope concentrates numerous high lagoons still as mirrors, sometimes frozen but always located within the impressive environment of the Bolivian Royal Range. From Khotia Lagoon to Surakhota and Ajwani, where large flocks of ducks meet, each is a gift to the eye in the diaphanous atmosphere of Andean heights that highlights natural colors. The unparalleled Condoriri Massif approaches day by day impressing the observer with its beauty praised by all mountaineers and the icy Chiakhota lagoon, at 4,880 meters above sea level, is a place that imposes admiration. Then comes the effort to pass the Jallaiko Pass, about 5,000 meters above sea level, to descend to a cozy valley and climb another step, circle more Andean lagoons while by far guarding the Huayna Potosí that proposes to the hiker to continue the adventure and a wide view over La Paz, the jungles of the eastern slope and a good part of the grandiose royal mountain range will encompass the gaze of the mountaineer who will return home satisfied with his experience in the heights. The Nevado Condoriri (5,648 meters above sea level) is the top of the Condoriri Massif, a notable part of the famed Bolivian Royal Mountain Range praised by mountaineers around the world for its unique beauty and resemblance to the Himalayas. On a five-day tour we will explore this massif knowing its slopes and the whole set of high lagoons that give it highlight. The central part, the Nevado itself, consists of three peaks that from afar look like a condor with its wings extended and escort it a dozen more five-thousand summits. The Nevado was first promoted in 1941. In the middle of the massif, escorting the Nevado, is little Alpamayo, a beautiful mountain of 5,410 m. which has this name for its resemblance to one of the faces of the great Peruvian Alpamayo. It is barely visible from the base camp hidden by the Tarija hill a little lower than must be surpassed and ascended by a sharp edge you reach the summit of Little Alpamayo where the eastern slope appears falling abruptly to the jungle yungas of the Bolivian amazon. That is why this mountain has characteristics appreciated by walkers who consider it a hidden attraction.
